If you've ever watched YouTube mavin lo-fi beats to consider/slow dow to and wished all the music was supported on classic Final Fantasy tunes, this is the album for you. Square Enix recently added a bunch of new albums to Spotify, including the excellent Final Fantasy VII Remake soundtrack (Personal computer version when?) and, best of all, Square Enix Chill Knocked out Arrangement Tracks - Around '80s Mix up, a collection of vibey, laid back remixes of Final Fantasy music.

"Introducing new cool-out arrangements of music from Square Enix's best-selling game titles," reads the album's official description. "This album features a selection of classic tracks, primarily taken from Squaresoft's 1980s releases, such equally Final Fantasy, Final Fantasise II, Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Caption II, Final Fantasy Legend III, and Final Fantasy Adventure."

"These arrangements have been produced past a wide variety of domestic and foreign talent, such as global trendsetter, DJ favourite, and treasure of New Zealand: Divine Echo, Ovall's Shingo Suzuki, and Shingo Sekiguchi from Origami Yield, both well-known from Seki Electronic jamming, and London keyboardist and piano player Chris Gulino, who also works as director for Kylie Minogue and Brian Ferry, likewise as umpteen more."

I've been listening to it all good afternoon, and I can support that it has successful me extremely chilled out. Epilogue, The Smooth Earth, and Chocobo Theme are my personal favourites. Square Enix has always through with cracking themed soundtrack releases, notably the umpteen Piano Collections albums (Northern William Claude Dukenfield still gets me), and this is a pleasant modern eddy on the concept.

Andy Kelly

If it's set in quad, Andy will probably write about it. He loves sci-fi, chance games, taking screenshots, Similar Peaks, weird sims, Alien: Closing off, and anything with a close story.
